Old Niles’ Guitar

For some folks, guitars are just a thing. For others, they’re an all-consuming passion.

Why do I do what I do when I do it?

Why does anyone do what they do? I collect, build and modify guitars as part of an unstoppable lifelong guitar odyssey.Call it crazy, call me a madman that should be immediately thrown down an endless pit for the good of all – nothing can stop my quest for the perfect guitar.

Reviews and breakdowns

In all videos, I look to give a breakdown (and where possible teardown) of every guitar, to show you what a guitar is made of.

Mods and upgrades

Mods and upgrades are the mainstay of what I do. From small switch jobs to full replacements, I’m always exploring interesting new jobs.

Builds and best-projects

Guitar builds are a great way to show how to put a new guitar together, and ‘best-projects’ are the best and easiest projects for beginners.

For the good of guitarists

Reviewing and modifying guitars is more than just a nerdy hobby for me. It’s chance to instruct and inspire others to do the same.

Key aims:

  • Deliver modifications that are simple and effective.
  • Save viewers money and show a better way.
  • Create new and interesting projects all the time.

We will fight in the guitar stores, we will fight in pawnshops, we will fight at major online retailers and at discount instrument websites. We shall fight wherever guitars can be found.”
